Program Requirements and Common Learning Experience
Students in the
Collaborative Program will be required to take one of three core courses,
participate in a research seminar series and at least one summer institute. All
of these activities are open to both master’s and doctoral students. Students
are encouraged to take the core course from outside their home graduate units.
Because of the multidisciplinary backgrounds of the students, a unique
feature of the program is the opportunity for students at different levels to
learn from one another and share knowledge and experiences.
It is the objective of the
Collaborative Program to enrich the learning experience without unduly extending
the duration of students’ graduate education. It is anticipated that most
competencies will be completed as part of a student’s home program.
